Dying in War
Description
Terrible is the human suffering that arises as a result of war. But what happens to the soldiers and civilians who suffer a violent death? This issue of The Spiritual World shows that special spheres are created for them in the spiritual world. When wars rage and so many people lose their lives, missionary spirits are always in attendance. They help the dying detach from their earthly body and accompany them into their new world, where they will be cared for and comforted with great devotion.
Yet not all who die in war are immediately able to accept this special care. One lecture, given during the time of Hungary’s popular uprising in 1956, describes how fallen freedom fighters return to earth as spirit beings and look for ways to help their comrades still engaged in battle. Another account details how a mother who was killed in war becomes receptive to the guidance of the angels only after seeing how the world of God succeeds in leading her children on earth to safety and providing them with assistance.
