The topic of depression and depressive moods is one that touches many people, be that from personal experience or because friends or family are affected by it. The lectures in this issue consider such an affliction from a spiritual point of view – both the causes as well as ways to heal. Spirit-teacher Lene: “After all, we see not only the outer human being as they are. We see their inner life, their dispositions as well as their tendencies. Based on this, we are able to get a better picture of a human being, and, if it is beneficial and healing, we can also foretell something about their future.”
The reasons why a human being tends to melancholy or becomes severely melancholic are very personal – they perhaps lie in an individual’s far distant spiritual past. In their lectures, both Lene and spirit-teacher Joseph shed light on various spiritual causes of suffering. They also illuminate ways in which a person who is sick in soul can distract themselves from burdensome thoughts and find healing. In one of these lectures, Joseph describes the experiences of a deceased man who needed to be cared for and nursed by the divine world after taking his own life as a result of depression. This issue also contains answers to various questions and numerous pieces of advice from spirit-teacher Joseph on the subject of depression.
